Privacy Policy

NameDrops ("we", "our", or "us") is a baby name matching app for couples. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

When you use NameDrops, we collect:

• Account information — your email address and display name when you sign up
• App preferences — your due date, baby number, and gender preference (optional)
• Votes — the names you like or pass on within each search
• Matches — names you and your partner both liked
• Notes — any notes you write on matched names
• Partner link — the invite code used to connect with your partner
• Purchase records — if you upgrade to Premium, we store the fact that your account is a paying customer (managed via Apple In-App Purchase + RevenueCat). We never see your payment information.
• Usage data — we collect anonymized product interaction events (e.g. when you complete onboarding, link a partner, or open the paywall) to help us improve the app. See the Analytics section below for details.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide the NameDrops service:

• To show you and your partner your matched names
• To sync your votes and preferences across devices
• To process subscription purchases via Apple In-App Purchase

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. The only third parties that ever receive any of your data are the service providers listed under "Data Storage" and "Analytics" below — and only to the extent needed to operate NameDrops.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Analytics

We use PostHog, a third-party analytics provider, to understand how people use NameDrops so we can improve it. PostHog may receive:

• Your account ID and email address
• Your device type and operating system version
• Approximate location derived from your IP address
• Product interaction events (e.g. when you sign up, complete onboarding, link a partner, create a match, open the paywall, or make a purchase)

PostHog does not receive your votes, your matches, or any notes you write. For more details on how PostHog handles data, see their privacy policy.

Data Sharing

The only data shared between users is between you and your linked partner — specifically your matched names and the notes you choose to write on them. No other users can see your data.

Deleting Your Data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings tab in the app. This removes your profile, votes, matches, and notes immediately. (Note: subscription billing is managed through your Apple ID — to cancel an active subscription, use Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.)

Children's Privacy

NameDrops is intended for adults who are expecting a baby. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
