NameDrops is a baby name matching app for couples — swipe through baby names with your partner, and when you both like the same name, it's a match. If something isn't working or you have a question, the answers below cover most things. If not, email us and we'll respond within a couple of business days.

From the Home screen or Settings, tap Link partner. You'll see a 6-character invite code — share it with your partner. When they enter your code (also under Link partner), both of your accounts get connected automatically.
For a match to fire, both of you need to swipe right (like) on the same name in the same search. If each of you created your own search, you'll be voting separately and matches won't trigger. Open one of the existing searches that you both share rather than creating a new one.
Open Settings and tap Unlink partner. This clears the link on both sides instantly. Each of you keeps your own searches, votes, and notes — but matches you created together and votes on each other's searches are removed.
In Settings, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, votes, matches, notes, and any partner link. There's a confirmation step so you don't trigger it by accident.
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? next to the password field. We'll email you a reset link.
Yes — tap + New search on the Home screen to start another one. Useful for comparing different gender preferences, theme lists ("classic names", "Italian names"), or running a separate search for a future baby.
Inside a search, tap the gender tabs near the top. You can switch between Girl, Boy, and Gender Neutral, or combine multiple. Your votes carry over.
NameDrops pulls from over 5,000 real baby names sourced from U.S. Social Security Administration data, with popularity rankings included so you can see how common or unique a name is.
Yes. The only person who can see your votes, matches, and notes is your linked partner. We don't sell your data, run ads, or share with third parties. Read the full Privacy Policy.
